A new study conducted by GTA players tackled an interesting topic in the Grand Theft Auto series. Players analyzed missions placed to advance the main storyline. According to the study, the missions in GTA 4 are the most law-breaking.
GTA 4 is the most lawless game in the GTA series
The players’ study analyzed all story missions in GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTA 4 and GTA 5. Accordingly, it identified episodes that required players to break real-world laws. Interestingly, the most laws were broken in GTA 4.
According to the study, Grand Theft Auto 4 featured illegal acts such as theft, violence or property damage in 79 percent of its main story missions. This makes GTA 4 the “most lawless game” in the iconic series.
In second place is GTA 5 with a mandatory illegal mission rate of 75 percent. In this context, it is possible to say that complex crime plans such as robbery have come to the fore in the last two games. In addition, GTA: San Andreas ranked third with 70.93 percent and GTA 3 ranked fourth with 70 percent.
The GTA production in which players broke the least laws was GTA: Vice City with 68 percent. Accordingly, it was stated that the missions in Vice City were less damaging.
Of course, all eyes are on GTA 6 today. Rockstar Games wants to release the new game in 2025.
